Super Heroes and Glasses

Clark Kent
Is it just me, or does it seem like superheroes alter egos always have glasses? When some superheroes aren't fighting there big villains, they are just like us. They are just regular, nerdy looking humans who are just doing their own thing.

Superman
Clark Kent is just your typical nerdy guy. He wears a nice pair of wayfarer style glasses, and just looks like a regular dude. When trouble is stirring up, he puts those glasses away and he becomes Superman. Superman is one of the most elite superheroes, and truly nothing ever gets in his way. That is why during the day he wears glasses. Who would ever thing a superhero would be a nerdy looking guy with glasses? I know I wouldn't.

Spiderman
Peter Parker
Spiderman, otherwise known as Peter Parker maybe one of the nerdiest looking guys out there. He is a computer nerd, who is always rocking a pair of glasses. He would be the last person you'd expect to be a superhero. Whenever there is trouble around the corner, you know Peter Parker will put on his red jump suite, throw the glasses to the side and become Spiderman.

The stereotype of people who wear glasses are nerds should be coming to an end. You just shouldn't judge a book by its cover from now on.

For all you round shaped faces it is rather easy to find the right pair of glasses for you. You want to add a bold glasses frame for you face, just so you can change your faces weird proportions. Once you've determined that it is quite simple. Finding a pair of bold square glasses is very easy. You can look at choose any wayfarer style of glasses you'd like.

Oval face and Square Glasses
Now, the oval shaped faces. I'm on your boat for this one since I also have an oval shaped face. What we oval faced people want to find is a nice pair of glasses that doesn't keep our face from looking very long. Our faces can pull off a large frame, since we mostly have large faces. My personal pair of glasses is a wayfarer style, that isn't too bold, but makes a statement.
Heart shaped face and Oval glasses
Lastly, the heart shaped faces. Heart shaped faced people might have the least amount of options when searching for glasses. If I were you, I would without a doubt choose an oval shaped frame. By doing this, you will even out your faces uneven proportions and your face will look perfect in a new pair of glasses.

I will leave the glasses shopping to you this time, since there are thousands of options to choose from.

Worlds Oldest Glasses

Imagine walking around without having your glasses on. How awful is that not being able to see anything, and just appearing blind. Way back in the 14th century in Italy, they thought the same thing.
Oldest Documented Glasses

Three years ago, the oldest documented eyeglasses was found. Historians say the glasses date back to 14th century Italy, but there are signs of glasses from the 13th century.

Maybe in about 300 years, people will be doing the same thing looking at our glasses as history.

History of Bifocal Glasses

Bifocal glasses have been around for ages. Benjamin Franklin, who is credited with the invention of bifocal glasses wore them himself. If you are unaware of what bifocal means, let me explain. Bifocals are eyeglasses that have two different lenses in them, one for distance, and one for near vision. The way this works is on the top of a glasses lens, there is the lens for distance, then as you get to the bottom the lens for near vision appears.
Modern Day Bifocals
Within the history of bifocal glasses, there has been many different innovations as time and technology grew. Irving Rips who worked for Younger Optics created the invisible bifocal glasses in 1955. This was a big change, since originally the lens looked rather odd, since the shape dipped in.

Original Bifocals
With any new idea, there are obviously problems. Bifocals can cause dizziness and headaches due to the fact that they have a total 2 different prescriptions on one lens. The headache and dizziness does indeed go away after you do get used to the different glasses.

Bifocals are an extremely helpful invention to all glasses wearers. It helps anyone who has trouble reading, and has trouble seeing faraway. I wonder what the next big glasses innovation will be.
